Introducing Cky J. Carrigan, Ph.D.

(The name "Cky" is pronounced "Ky" which rhythms with "Why")

Family: His parents, Carl and Carolyn Carrigan, are full-time evangelists and missionaries who make their home in Shreveport, Louisiana when they are not holding revival meetings, equipping believers for evangelism and helping other missionaries. Dr. Cky Carrigan and his wife, Janna, have been married for twenty-seven years. Janna is a full-time homemaker, home-schooling mother, active church member and indispensable helpmate. The Carrigans have two daughters, 25 & 21, and a 15-year-old son named Adam. Apryl is a student at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Bonnie is a student at Southeastern College at Wake Forest. Adam is an ninth-grader at The Carrigan Homeschool. The Carrigans presently make their home in Raleigh, North Carolina and attend Wake Crossroads Baptist Church where they serve as North American Missionaries in Residence.

Education: He is a graduate of Criswell College in Dallas, Texas and holds a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy in Theology from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina.

Background: He has lived in Louisiana (10 yrs.), Florida (7 yrs.), Texas (4 yrs.), Alaska (12 yrs.) and North Carolina (13 yrs.). Before his career in ministry, he was an operations supervisor in the petrochemicals industry and a general contractor in Alaska where he and Janna were very active in church and missions.

Former Ministries: He was on staff at First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas where he served part-time as Assistant Pastor of Personal Evangelism. He also pastored two churches in North Carolina: West Oxford Baptist Church in Oxford and Calvary Baptist Church in Rocky Mount.

Present Ministries: He is serving Southern Baptists in World Missions. He is a National Missionary of Interfaith Evangelism for the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. He is also Adjunctive Professor of Missions at Southeastern Seminary. He is charged with equipping Southern Baptists to share the genuine Jesus with people from other world religions, sectarian groups and cults. He has a burden for world missions and a passion for theological truth. These two features, together with his theological and pastoral training have prepared him for this vital ministry to Southern Baptists.
